Edward enlisted on 5 Jun 1943 at Sydney and discharged as a Warrant Officer on 9 Apr 1946 from No 14 Aircrew Holding Unit.

The sweatband is marked J L Millar as is the crown, also on sweatband to the left of the name is a faint W arrow D stamp. The chinstrap and side buttons are missing. James enlisted on 2 Nov 1942 at Melbourne and discharged on 3 Jan 1946 as a Flight Lieutenant from Ein Shemer.
