Richard George De Burgh Griffith enlisted on 11 Feb 1944 and discharged with the rank of Leading Aircraftman on 11 Jul 1945 from Airforce Headquarters. Richard George de Burgh Griffith;

Post-war he studied law, being admitted to the Victorian Bar in October 1949 and going on to become a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria for a little over a year, across 1975-76.
